Shirley J. Gooden, 85, of Suffield, OH went home to be with the Lord on Friday, August 6, 2021. She was born in Cass, West Virginia to parents Alfred and Teresa Higgins on January 5, 1936.
Preceding her in death are her husband, Nolan Davis Gooden, Sr.; children, Kathryn Bouchard, Karla Burroughs and Teresa Lambert; brother, June Higgins.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, David (Debbie) Lambert and Karen (David) Parsons; grandchildren, Rebecca Tomczak, David L. Lambert, Troy
Lambert, Jerry Lambert, David A. Lambert, David Finkbeiner, Hiram Parsons, Rachael (Ryan) Christian, Rebecca Parsons, Jessica (Andrew) McEntyre and Jonathan Dennis; many great- grandchildren; great-great grandchildren; and two son-in-laws, Jeff Bouchard and Randy Burroughs.
Shirley was a member of the Ohio Country Western Music Association. She was also a faithful member of Ellet Community Church of God for over 50 years. She enjoyed reading and sewing. Family was everything to her and she enjoyed having large family gatherings. Shirley will be dearly missed.
Memorial donations can be made in her name to Ellet Community Church of God, 2700 Priscilla Ave., Akron, OH 44312.
A funeral service will be held for Shirley on Monday, August 16, 2021 at Ellet Community Church of God at 11:00 am with calling hours one hour prior.
She will be laid to rest at Hillside Cemetery in Randolph.
