Shirley Jean Gray, 84, passed away peacefully at home on February 16, 2022. Shirley was born in Akron, Ohio, the daughter of the late Frank and Wyona Plant.
In addition to her parents, Shirley is preceded in death by her daughter Deborah (William) Marshall and daughter-in-law Caren Gray.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Howard Gray, sons Michael Gray and Charles Bradley (Christina) Gray; daughter Brenda (Jim) Harbert; grandchildren Justin (Jenna) Gray, James (Kari) Harbert, Samantha (Eric) Helms and Nathan (Autumn) Johnson; 4 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Shirley had a delightful laugh, and enjoyed vacationing with family, bingo with friends, sewing, quilting, crafting and gardening as well as many memorable family get-togethers. She particularly enjoyed lavishing attention on her grandchildren and playing video and computer games with them.

Akron, OH 44305 on Monday, February 21, from 10:00 a.m. until her funeral service begins at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Tommy Bunner officiating. Mausoleum chapel committal service to follow at Hillside Memorial Park, 1025 Canton Rd. Akron, 44312, where Shirley will be laid to rest next to her daughter, Deborah.
