Shirley J. Holbrook, 74 of Akron, passed away on February 20, 2010. She was born on July 6, 1935 to the late Richard and Kathryn Houston. Preceded in death by her brother, Donald Quarles and Step-father JB Quarles. She is survived by her husband John; daughters, Lola Thomas, and Marcey Harding; son, Guy Moross; sister, Sharon Maleckar; granddaughter Ashley Harding, three granddaughters, one grandson and several great-grandchildren. Shirley was employed at J.B. Produce, New Tavern and Goodyear Peter Heart Group. Cremation has taken place. In celebration of her life, friends and family will gather on Tuesday, February 23 from 3-6 p.m. at 835 Minota Ave., Akron, Ohio 44306. NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 330-784-3334
