Shirley Kovalchik Willoughby, 78, passed away December 26, 2010. She was born March 18, 1932 in Akron, Ohio to the late Everett and Mary Hollin. Shirley touched many lives through her acts of kindness and will be deeply missed. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, John Kovalchik; husband, Harmon Willoughby; and six brothers and sisters. She is survived by her daughters, Colleen Kovalchik, Kim Pinney, and Christine (Jim) Schmidt; brother, Everett (Henrya) Hollin; sisters-in-law, Dortha Kovalchik and Marceil Hollin; grandchildren, John (Maureen) VanBuskirk, Anthony Schmidt, and Sara Schmidt; great-grandchildren, Logan and Mason VanBuskirk; and many nieces, nephews, and good friends. Family and friends may call on Wednesday from 4-8 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., where a celebration of life will be held Thursday at 11 a.m., Chaplain Joey DeBarr officiating.
