Shirley L. McCulley
Shirley L. McCulley, 73, passed away on December 11, 2009. Shirley was a very devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She was a very generous person, always giving from the heart. She will be fondly remembered by all who knew her as having a "heart of gold." Preceded in death by her husband, Ralph H. W. McCulley; parents, Lee Edward & Gladys Garnetta (Poole) House; sister, Helen Wagner; grandson, Jason McCulley; and daughter-in-law, Rebecca McCulley. She is survived by her devoted travelling companion of 27 years, William G. O'Dell; daughters, Shirley (David) Gorsline, Susan (Tim) Koehler, and Brenda (David) Thomas; sons, Ralph (Cheri) McCulley and John (Chris) McCulley; sisters, Violet Green, Gladys (Bud) Reed, and Alice Gorman; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Gwendolyn Hughes, Dr. Irwin Maseelall, and Dr. Mood. Calling hours will be Thursday, 5-9 p.m. and Friday, 10-11 a.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., where a funeral service will be held Friday at 11 a.m. Interment at Northlawn Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to Akron East Kidney Center.
