Shirley E Lund

December 27, 1935 — September 22, 2019

Shirley E. Lund, 83, of Mogadore went home to be with the Lord on September 22, 2019, our sweet mom is finally at peace -no more pain.

Shirley enjoyed walks in the park, especially at Goodyear Metro, while enjoying the fall colors, and watching sunsets. She loved all animals but especially her cats and dogs; especially, Heidi and Maxi, her Chihuahuas, who had a special place in Shirley's heart. Shirley liked eating out, reading her Christian books, doing crosswords, and loved playing Yahtzee with her son-in-law, Roger. But Shirley's heart was "down home", where she grew up in Clarington, Ohio, where she had cherished memories of growing up with her siblings.

Mrs. Lund raised five children and babysat many over the years who she also treated as her own. While raising her children in a home full of love and laughter all were welcome including their friends to be a part of this extended family. Although it has been a few years now, Shirley enjoyed having her family over for Sunday dinners especially during the holiday season. She also enjoyed continuing to make friends and connections with those around her; including her Mogadore neighbors for the last nine years. Shirley worked for many years in the family business Lund Printing. In her fifties she went to beauty school with friend and neighbor, Judy Spidle, and they obtained her Cosmetology licenses together which made her families very proud. Shirley's children and so much fun growing up with Judy and Richard sons; Brian, Kenny, and Mark.

Mrs. Lund is preceded in death by her brothers; Eugene and George (Jr.) Miller; and her son, Ralph Lund.

Shirley will be greatly missed by her loving husband, Norman "Norm" Lund; daughters, Norma Jean (Roger) Linder, Lisa (Terik) Hartz, Julie (Paul) Taylor, Mark Lund; grandchildren, Kat (Izzy) Skoff, Ryan Hartz, Alex Hartz, Amy (Ethan) Millsaps, Paul and Hunter Taylor; great-grandchildren, Bella Millsaps, Ziggy Skoff; brother, Donald (Eileen) Miller, Robert (Gayle) Miller; sisters, Juanita Albus, and Vivian Cartmill; and special sister-in-law and dear friend Darleen Cook; many nieces and nephews; best friends, Edie Cutting, Violet Holyfield, and dear family friends Ray Adorni, and Vicki Rager; and Jane Hopkins, Bobbie Holyfield, Lydia Eggleston, Kim Zeman, and Julie Barden who thought of Shirley as their second mom; also Roger and Donna Gobeli whom she appreciated keeping in close contact with her by sending their love and support with cards.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Pastor Paul Bloom and the entire church family of, The Community Baptist Church, in Springfield Township, for all the cards, prayers, and well wishes. She had a special love for them.

The family also wanted to share two of Shirley's favorite hymns were; How Great Thou Art and Amazing Grace. But please take a moment to read Mrs. Lund's favorite Bible verse; Isaiah 40:31:

but those who hope in the Lord
will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint.

Shirley also loved reading the Book of Psalms.

In lieu of flowers please consider making a contribution in Shirley's name to your favorite charity or local animal shelter.

A celebration of life will occur at a later date "down home" and potentially a local memorial service. Please contact the family further information.
