Silver Robert Ross

July 13, 1938 — April 20, 2025

Silver Robert Ross, a cherished member of his family and community, passed away peacefully on April 20, 2025, in the comfort of his home in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, at the age of 86. Born on July 13, 1938, in Akron, Ohio, Bob led a life marked by dedication and love for those around him.

Bob's professional journey included significant tenures at Eaton Corporation in Copley and a rewarding retirement from Giant Eagle in Tallmadge in December 2020. Throughout his career, he was known for his quiet and soft-spoken demeanor, reflecting a humble spirit that many found comforting.

His commitment to service was evident during his time in the United States Army, where he was stationed in South Korea. This experience was a testament to his character and the values he held dear, including duty and respect.

Bob was deeply passionate about his family, finding joy in the moments spent together. He had a notable interest in classic old car shows and enjoyed collecting old car memorabilia, a hobby that reflected his appreciation for craftsmanship and history.

He leaves behind his devoted wife of 63 years, Darleen (Starr) Ross, who stood by him through all walks of life. He is also survived by his sisters-in-law, Ramona (Humphrey) Higgins and Greg, Sandra (Starr) Lance and Denny, and brother-in-law Joseph Humphrey and Audrey. Bob's family bonds extended to cousins Ron Matthews and Terri, Bonnie Wolcott and Dave, Becky Flossy and Bruce, as well as many precious nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews who will remember him fondly.

He was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Eloise Stewart Ross, and father, Peter J. Ross. Their guidance and love shaped the remarkable man he became.

As we remember Silver Robert Ross, we celebrate a life thoughtfully lived and the countless memories he created with his family and friends. He will be dearly missed, but his legacy will endure in the hearts of all who knew him.

A special thanks to all the family and friends for the love, prayers, your much appreciated visits, the help and all the delicious meals and desserts and to all the staff at Summa Hospice and Cuyahoga Falls Fire Department.

There will be a private ceremony at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery at a later date.
