Sonja Kinnan

Sonja Kinnan, 65, joined the Lord on August 29, 2020, surrounded by her close friends and family. She was born on May 18, 1955 in Salzburg, Austria.
At just 5 months old, she immigrated to the United States with her parents. She graduated from Cuyahoga Falls High School and went on to attend both the University of Akron and Kent State University. Sonja married the love of her life, Jon Kinnan, on August 5, 1978 and spent 42 wonderful years with him. She taught German and Home Economics for Aurora City Schools for over 30 years. While teaching was her passion, being with her husband and 3 children, Ryan, Ashley and Stefanie, was the most important thing in life to her. We know her passing will leave a void in the hearts of those who love her.
Sonja was preceded in death by her parents, Stephan and Maria Kuljko, and is survived by her loving husband and three children.
Per her wishes, cremation has taken place and no memorial service will be scheduled.
A private family memorial, celebration of Sonja's life, will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Akron General Cleveland Clinic's Support Our Staff fund.
