Stanford A. Witsaman
Stanford A. Witsaman, 94, of Akron, passed away August 27, 2008. Stanford was born in North Canton On August 16, 1914 to the late Russell and Goldie Witsaman. He retired from Norton Co. (formerly Stoneware) after 44 1/2 years of service as a craftsman. He worked with clay crafting products primarily used in chemistry labs. Stanford will always be remembered as a gentle person and a friend to everyone he met. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Pauline Witsaman, Gladys Miller, Catherine Cusick, and Virginia Geotz; and brother, Clark Witsaman. He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Anne; son, Ronald (Marie) Witsaman of Costa Mesa, CA; daughter, Carole Witsaman of Akron; three grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren. Family and friends may call on Tuesday from 5-8 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., where funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. with Rev. Steve Bucy officiating. Interment at Hillside Memorial Park.
