Stella Mae Dow

Stella Mae Dow, 81, of Akron, went home to be with the Lord on October 9, 2007. Stella was born in Sherwood, TN on May 29, 1926 and moved to Akron in 1947. She worked for Leroy's Jewelers for seventeen years and Lakeshore Jewelers for many years. Stella was a member of Akron Baptist Temple and volunteered at the Outreach. She loved and served the Lord her whole life and will always be remembered for her kind, generous heart. Stella was preceded in death by her husband, Harlan "Gene" Dow; parents, Charles and Mary Brown; children, Carolyn and Lawrence Walls; and brother, Lawrence "Buddy" Brown. She will be deeply missed by her daughters, Patricia (Terry) Stimson and Vanessa (Harry) Boring; grandchildren, Mary (Larry) Margeson, Frank "Butch" Fanizzi, Paul (Krystal) Fanizzi, Mark (Annamarie) Fanizzi, Jennifer (Todd) Boring, Jessica Boring, Jullian Boring, Jarred Boring, Terry (Diane) Stimson, and Doug (Kim) Stimson; great-grandchildren, Shaun, Ryan, Alex, Stephen, Brandon, Samantha, Katelynn, and Nicholas Fanizzi, and Maddie Stimson; and brother-in-law, Gerald Dow. Family and friends may call on Sunday from 3-6 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., where funeral services will be held Monday at 11:30 a.m. with Revs. Scott Campbell and Joyce Carr officiating. Interment at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
