Stella Trissel (Sabolesky)
Stella Trissel, 87, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on June 5, 2008. She was born September 6, 1920 to the late John and Lottie Skapsik in Maynard, Ohio and lived most of her life in the Akron area. She was preceded in death by her brothers, John and Henry Skapsik; sister, Anna Dubravetz; and grandson, Ronald David Sabolesky. Stella will be dearly missed by her husband, James; daughters, Penny (Ken) Roush, Susan (Dave) Semonin, and Annette Barbuto; sons, Ronald and John (Cindy) Sabolesky, all of the Akron area; stepsons, Mike (Sherry) and Scott (Cheryl) Trissel of the Canton area; sister, Louise Stack; sixteen grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild, all of the Akron area. She also leaves a host of other relatives and friends. Stella graduated from Kenmore High School in 1938 and worked many years in payroll and bookkeeping positions, retiring from Gold Circle in 1985. Stella was an avid ballroom dancer and enjoyed traveling across the states with stops along the way at many casinos. Visitation will be Sunday from 5:30-7:30 p.m. followed by a 7:30 p.m. service officiated by Father Ralph Thomas at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Salvation Army.
