Stephanie "Pep" L. Cox went Home to be with the Lord on January 10, 2024 after years of bravely battling Multiple Sclerosis. Stephanie was born to the Union of Clarence D. Lee and Jerrie Lee on October 13, 1965, in Brooklyn, New York. She spent her childhood there until her early teens, then moved to California. In her late teenage years, she moved to Akron, Ohio where she attended and graduated from Garfield High School, Class of 83. She met and married her high school sweetheart, Jerry. Of their union she had her only beloved child, Jennifer Cox.
Stephanie was the best mother. She took pride in keeping her daughter very well dressed and being there by her side for every milestone. Stephanie wanted nothing more than to make her Jenny Rae smile and took the best care of her for as long as she could. In return, as Stephanie became ill, Jennifer without a doubt did the same.
Although Stephanie had a shy demeanor, she was known for being a fashionable pretty girl who loved to laugh, dance, watch movies and listen to music. Stephanie was truly a beautiful person both inside and out. She loved her family tremendously. She had a special connection with her niece Laqwanda who was almost like a sister to her. They both enjoyed going to the skating rink, watching movies and listening to 80s hip hop rap songs. Stephanie lived in Virginia and Memphis for the majority of her young adult life and finally relocated back to Ohio where she lived until she gained her heavenly wings.
