Stephen Bailey, 90, went on to Heaven Thursday, December 15, 2016. Steve was born on December 26, 1925 in Mt. Pleasant, Ohio to Nicholas and Anna Bailey. Steve served his country in the U. S. Army during WWII. He was a graduate of Ohio State University. Steve was an avid golfer and family man. He was a member of the Allenside Athletic Club. Steve was a member and attended Akron Freewill Baptist Church.
Steve is preceded in death by his 6 brothers and 2 sisters.
Steve is survived by his devoted wife of 49 years, Nettie Bailey; children, David (Linda),Tom ,Stephen, Rob (Debbie),Doug (Liz),Greg (Sylvia),Gary (Rita); brother, Ted.
14 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews will miss grandpa and uncle Steve dearly.
Family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 20, 2016 from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd, Akron, Ohio 44305. A funeral service will follow. Doctor Gary C. Bailey officiating.
Internment will take place at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
