Stephen "Steve" B. Hosey

Stephen "Steve" B. Hosey, 62, passed away at home surrounded by family on April 27, 2017. He was born in Akron, OH on March 8, 1955 to late parents, Hale and Freida Hosey. Steve retired after 43 years of service with Akron Public Schools ("Mr. Roswell Kent"). He also founded Hosey and Sons Lawn Care, H&S Maintenance, and countless side jobs throughout his life. Steve instilled an unbelievable work ethic in his sons and close friends. His life motto was "Work hard, play hard, sleep hard, and take care of family." Steve's love for his family was unmeasurable, but his love for his wife Susan was beyond belief. He had a tender heart but a strong hand.

Steve is survived by his beloved wife of 43 years, Susan; sons, Keith (Brandi) Hosey, Kurt (Aisley) Hosey, Russell (Erika) Hosey; grandchildren, Paiton, Kelsey, Griffin, Kurt II, Brycen, Brinley, Parker, Preslee; sister, Sonya (Dennis) Minor (children, Cristi, Ben); brother, Rick Hosey (son, Richie); sister-in-law, Carol (Ron) Ruman (children, Brian (Lisa), Stefanie, Jennifer); great-niece, Allison; great-nephew, Brandon; close friend, Gary Finch; and furry friend, Kirby.

Family will welcome guests on Saturday, May 6, 2017 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, from 11:00am - 1:00pm. A memorial service will follow at 1:00pm.
