Stephen J. Bella, 90, of Mogadore, went home to be with his Lord on Friday, November 7, 2008. Stephen proudly served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He retired from Goodyear Aerospace, was a longtime member of Grace Baptist Church, and was a member of the Mogadore VFW. Stephen had a wide range of interests and hobbies, including photography, traveling, reading, airplanes, and cars. He was a history buff with particular interest in all things related to World War II. He was a talented handyman and believed that almost anything could be fixed with duct tape. Stephen's main focus in life was his family. He loved spending time with them and was involved in all of their lives. After accepting Christ as his Savior at the age of 45, Stephen's prayer has always been for the salvation of all of his family and loved ones. Stephen was preceded in death by his parents, Stephen and Susan Bella; and sisters, Sophie and Anne. He will be deeply missed by his loving wife of 68 years, Patricia; daughters, Judy (Gerald) Dies, Jenny (Timothy) Thomas, and Jeanne (Larry) Hotchkiss; brother, Daniel Bella; sister, Eleanor Brueggeman; grandchildren, Timothy (Brittany) Thomas, Jeremy (Lisa) Hotchkiss, Julie Holmes, Kimberly (Steven) Youngblood, Jeffrey and Jenna Thomas; great-grandchildren, Alexis and Alayna Holmes, Kolton Thomas, Lily Hotchkiss, Tyler Youngblood, and Kade Thomas. Family and friends may call on Tuesday, November 11 from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd. Funeral services to be Wednesday, November 12 at 11 a.m. with officating Pastors Phil Hulgin and Mark O'Donnell at Community Baptist Temple, 1398 Canton Rd. Interment to follow at Greenwood Cemetery with military honors provided by Firestone VFW 3383.
