Stephen Ray Moore
Stephen Ray Moore passed away on July 3, 2015 at the age of 72. Steve was born in East Liverpool, Ohio on October 4, 1942; the only child of Virginia Bell Moore and Raymond Webber Moore. Steve grew up in East Liverpool and proudly called himself an "East Ender" referring to his section of town on banks of the Ohio River. "T-Bone", as his family and childhood friends called him, loved stopping at Laetch's Dairy on his way to school to get comic books, model airplanes, and all kinds of treats. Clark bars were his favorite and he'd save his pennies up until he had enough. Steve graduated from East Liverpool High School in 1960 where he played basketball and was an all around popular guy. At the age of 20 while attending Ohio State University, Steve married and started a family.
By the time he was 26, he was the father of four and a traveling salesman for Jockey. He made Kent his home, and using his experience in the clothing industry, he opened the clothing store called "Silver Threads" just off the Kent State University campus. On any given day, you could find Steve at Silver Threads playing backgammon and drinking coffee from Captain Brady's next door.
When Steve was in his early 30s, he met and married the love of his life, Patricia "Pat" Lansinger and moved his family to Brimfield where Pat worked as a teacher for gifted children. He quickly became a prominent figure in his new community and eventually served as a Trustee for Brimfield Township, helping to create its first police department and later became Brimfield Township Administrator.
Steve had many talents, which lead to many occupations. He was a security guard with Belkin and Hall Security and worked every big rock and roll show in and around Cleveland. He taught business classes in adult education at Maplewood JVS and created his own Karaoke company. For years, Steve's Karaoke nights at Otto's drew a loyal crowd of folks who came not only to sing, but also to hang out with Steve and hear him crack jokes. Steve was never at a loss for words and was always the funniest guy in the room. Steve had a creative side and an artistic eye. He collected antiques and decorated his home with old tins, lamps, sculptures, and pictures. He enjoyed macrame, taking care of house plants, cooking, playing his guitar, and traveling.
He and Pat took many trips all over Europe, California and Washington state to visit their children and grandchildren. Steve was preceded in death by his parents, Virginia and Raymond Moore.
Steve is survived by his wife of 38 years, Patricia Moore; his four children and their spouses: Miranda Mar, Elizabeth Schoeben (Robert), Jodi Moore, Brad Moore (Carrie Abbot); his five grandsons, Darien Moore, Spencer Schoeben, Levi Schoeben, Indiana Ford-Mar, and Riley Schoeben; his mother-in-law, Birgit Lansinger; his sister-in-law, Linda Lansinger; his brother-in-law, David Lansinger; and his nephew, David Siegel.

Visitation will be Saturday, July 11, 2015 from 11-12 followed by a 12 noon funeral service at the funeral home. Interment at Restland Cemetery in Brimfield.
