Stephen A. Rarick

On September 27, 2017, Steve's earthly light was extinguished and his heavenly light was born to shine forevermore.

Steve fought health problems with great courage and dignity for many years. He was loving and kind, with a great sense of humor.

Steve was preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Jane (Smith) Rarick; sister, Colleen (Rarick) Mattucci; mother and father-in-law, Melissa and Charles Zimerla; and grandparents, John and Hazel Rarick.

He will be sadly missed by his loving wife and best friend of 44 years, Wendy Rarick; his devoted and beloved daughter, Lesli Rarick; sister, Debra (John) Kerpsie; brother, John Rarick; brothers-in-law, Kenneth "Kenny" (Yvonne) Zimerla, James "Jimmy" (Ellen-deceased) Zimerla; his Chicago cousins and aunts; cousins by marriage; loving aunt Mabel "Aunt Pat" Nicolard; many dear nieces and nephews; special close friends; and his grand-puppy, Vaughn.

Steve enjoyed many aspects in his lifetime, particularly time spent with his wife and daughter, as well as many family gatherings. He enjoyed his fishing trips to Canada and golfing trips to Salt Fork.

Steve was very proud of his 44 years of employment with Ruppel's Art Supply. He was also employed by Wayne Romans Gallery as a custom picture framer, during which time they developed a lifelong friendship.

Keep Steve's light shining brightly in your hearts through a special memory you shared with him. He will be deeply missed!

A memorial visitation will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, 44305 on Saturday October 7, 2017 from 12pm-4pm.
