Stephen "Bob" R. Smith, 86, of Akron, passed away on March 15, 2021 at Heather Knoll Nursing Home. He was born March 20, 1934 to Steve and Virginia Smith (nee Schenk).
Steve was a graduate of East High School in 1952. He attended Tallmadge Lutheran Church. He served in the U.S. Army from 1957-1959. Steve retired from Crown Mold and Machine in 1999. Steve was an avid camper and also belonged to the Corsair Model Airplane Club.
Preceding him in death are his parents; sister, Joanne Ballway; and brother, Tom.
He is survived by his loving wife, Carmella "Carmie" of 65 years; sons, Steven (Penny) and Scott; 3 grandchildren, Stephanie Smith (Jay), Ashley (Zach) Boggs, Ian Smith (Melissa); great-granddaughter, Aubree Smith; and brother, Jim (Nanette) Smith.
There will be no calling hours. Cremation has taken place.
