Stephen T. Tandarich

Stephen T. Tandarich, 63, of Akron, went home to be with the Lord on November 6, 2009 in Jacksonville, Florida while doing something he loved – fishing. He was born February 8, 1946 in Akron and resided there most of his life. Steve was a 1964 graduate of Ellet High School where he played trumpet in the marching band. He went on to serve in the U.S. Navy Armed Forces. Steve served as a mailman at Disneyland in California where he lived for 5 years. He retired from the Yellow Cab Co. after 30 years of service. He was an avid bowler and enjoyed traveling and visiting casinos. Steve was very involved with his children and grandchildren's sporting events. He was such a loving and giving family man that he will leave a void in many people's lives. He was preceded in death by his father, Stephen Tandarich and his brother, Michael Tandarich. Steve will be missed by his mother, Margaret Schweigert; Connie Brooks, his loving companion of 30 years; his children, Steve (Danielle) Tandarich, Carol Cover, Tammy Tandarich, and Susan (Marc) Giuliano; brother, Pete Tandarich; 14 grandchildren and 1 great-grandson; numerous aunts, uncles, relatives and friends. A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 14 at First Church Of God, 464 Northeast Ave. in Tallmadge beginning at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor William Wimmer officiating.
