Stephen M. Uhl
Stephen M. Uhl, 51, of Green, passed away June 14, 2006 after a hard fought battle with cancer. He was born June 21, 1954 in Parkersburg, West Virginia. He moved to Ohio after graduating from high school. Stephen was employed at Sonoco for 32 years. He was a member of Akron Freewill Baptist Church and attended Chapel of Prayer Baptist Church. In his free time, Stephen enjoyed golfing, landscaping, and cooking. He was an avid sports fan and a collector of lighthouses and tall ships. He will always be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor, generosity, and integrity. He cherished his family and friends and will be missed by all who knew him. Stephen was preceded in death by his father, Harold Uhl. He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Brenda; children, Jason (April) Uhl, Cindy Uhl, Michael Nelisse, Steven Nelisse, Larry (Kathy) Nelisse, and Clinton Nelisse (Megan Tharnish); mother, Bessie Uhl; brothers and sisters, Robert (Janice) Uhl, Patty (Tom) Jackson, Richard (Anne) Uhl, David (Debbie) Uhl, Nancy (Joe) DeLong, Cathy Uhl, Kenneth Uhl, and Paula (Tim) Jessup; grandchildren, Eric, Alysa, Logan, Amber,Johnny, with another grandchild due in November; in-laws, Karen (Ron) Carver, Susan Murray, and Clinton Murray (Doris); many beloved nieces, nephews, and friends. Family and friends may call on Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., where funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. with Pastor Sherman Bailey officiating. Interment at Hillside Memorial Park.
