Steve Campano
September 13, 1953 — October 1, 2022
Steve Campano, aka "Coach Steve", passed away on Saturday, October 1, 2022 after an eight week battle with pancreatic cancer.
Steve is preceded in death by his parents, Marie and Louis and his sister, Judy.
He is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Missie and his two sons, Jeff and Cory. His sisters, Joanne, Janice and Beverly; niece, Tara and nephew, Connor; his mother-in-law, Carol; his brothers-in-law, Albert (Jerri), Jeff (Becky) and Dan (Lezlie).
Jeff and Cory were his buddies. You could always find them on the golf course, watching football, playing poker or sitting on the deck smoking a cigar.
Steve was a simple guy, to honor him feel free to wear your favorite golf or sports shirt and a baseball hat.
The family would like to thank Dr. Visioni and his staff, all of the ICU doctors, nurses and techs, the nurses and techs on the 5200 and 5400 floors and all the other caregivers. "You took wonderful care of Steve and you will forever be in our hearts".
Family and friends may visit at the Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 North Canton Road, Akron, on Saturday, October 8, 2022 from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM, where there will be a brief prayer at 12:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Stephen A. Comunale Jr. Family Cancer Foundation, PO Box 13805, Akron, Ohio 44334.
