Steve M. Hofbauer entered into eternal rest on January 22, 2010. Born on August 25, 1917 to Rose (Tresz) and Joseph Hofbauer. He was a driver for City Baking Co. for 11 years and a store manager at Lawson Milk Co. for 23 years. A veteran of World War II, a former member of Grace Lutheran Church and Fairlawn Lutheran Church in Akron, OH.
Preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Evelyn (Bock); sister, Anne Flamish; brother, Martin Tresz. He is survived by wife Kathleen; sister, Margaret Artley (Akron); daughter, Nancy (Richard) Roesch (The Villages, FL); sons, James (Akron), Robert (Barberton); step-daughter, Sandra Paris (Cuyahoga Falls); grandchildren, Lori Duggan, Scott Roesch, Melinda Covelli; step-grandsons, Matt and Joe Paris; and 9 great-grandchildren.
Calling hours will be Wednesday, 6-9 p.m. and Thursday 10-11 a.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., where a funeral service will be conducted on Thursday, at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. R. Landis Coffman, Jr. officiating.
