Steve Smith

Steven Smith, 54, of Norton, passed peacefully at his residence surrounded by his family, on May 13, 2019. He was born in Tucson, Arizona on June 6, 1964 to Avery and the late Audrey Smith (Prater). He graduated from Ellet High School in 1982. For the last 12 years, he worked at Rubbermaid in Mogadore.

Steve lived his life fiercely and passionately. He embraced everything in life that came his way. He loved riding motorcycles and feeling the wind in his hair and the sun on his face. Steve enjoyed Sunday afternoons watching drag racing, a sport in which he connected with. He was an avid pet lover who loved music. He also had a passion for Native American culture. Above everything, Steve loved and cherished his family.

Steve was preceded in death by his mother, Audrey Faye Smith; his infant son, Joshua James; and brother, David Smith.

Steve will be deeply missed by his wife, Donna Hahn; daughter, Nicole (Karles) Gossick; father, Avery Smith; brothers, Michael Smith and Eugene "Avery" Smith; sister, Mayetta Haynes; niece, Megan Richardson; Donna's children and grandchildren, Lucas (Elaine Carson) Goodhart, Heath Goodhart, Dawn (John) Rowan, Azrael Goodhart, and Makenzie Rowan; and other extended family members and friends.

Friends and family are welcome to visit on Saturday May 18, 2019 from 1pm until 2pm at Newcomer 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron. A memorial service will follow at 2pm.
