Steven P. Friedman

July 14, 1955 — June 18, 2023

Steven P. Friedman passed away peacefully on June 18, 2023 at the age of 67. He was born to Harry and Catherine on July 14, 1955 in Barberton, Ohio. He graduated from Kent Roosevelt High School before serving his country in the United States Navy. He went on to become a Journeyman Electrician and retired from Berry Plastics after 27 faithful years. Steve met the love of his life, Cindy, through mutual friends and they married in a sunrise ceremony at Surf Side Beach in North Carolina. Steve was an avid animal lover and enjoyed being at home, as well as relaxing in the yard with one of his many hats on. He cared deeply and lovingly for all of his Fellows, family and friends.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by brothers, Kevin and Gene Friedman; brothers-in-law, Joe Slade, James Wright and Richard Unkefer; sister-in-law, Susi Friedman; his beloved border collie, Jack; and his buddy, Buster.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 17 years, Cindy Friedman; brothers, Harry and Greg (Becky) Friedman; sisters, Doris Slade, Betty Warnick, Kay Wright, Karen Unkefer; sister-in-law, Chris (Bill) Putra; sons, Steven and Matthew Friedman; daughter, Teresa (Zach) Parker; step-sons, Sean and Ryan McDowell; as well as grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Per his wishes, cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service is scheduled for July 1, 2023 at 2pm at First Church of God (237 New Milford Road, Ravenna, OH 44266) with Pastor Tod Huston officiating. A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
