Steven B. Hetzer

Steven B. Hetzer, 64, of Ravenna, passed away peacefully at home on June 23, 2021. Steve was born in Akron on May 12, 1957 to Raleigh and Shirley (Sprague) Hetzer. Steve retired from Akron Public Schools after over 30 years as a custodian. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, and playing poker and euchre with family and friends. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather and will be truly missed by all who knew him.
Steve was preceded in death by his father, Raleigh Hetzer. He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Susan; children, Steven (Allison) Hetzer and Sara Savage; mother, Shirley Hetzer; brothers, Mark (Melanie) Hetzer and Chuckie (Tonya) Hetzer; sister, Kelly Collins; grandchildren, Carter, Kynsleigh, and Lucas; many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visitation will be held on Monday, June 28, 2021 from 3-6 followed by a 6:00 p.m. memorial service at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
