Steven Douglas Marshall
August 10, 1964 — March 20, 2018
Steven Douglas Marshall, 53, peacefully passed away Tuesday, March 20, 2018, at his home in Uniontown, Ohio after a 15 month battle with cancer. He was born August 10, 1964 in Akron, Ohio. Steve was the beloved husband and best friend of his one and only love of 31 years, Lee Anne Marshall (Smith); the devoted father of Sarah Marshall, Joshua Marshall and wife, Lynn Marshall (Lanier), Philip Marshall; and playful grandfather (Papa) of Fayelor Nicole and Eliza Ann. Steve is survived by his parents, James and Rosemary Marshall; favorite mother-in-law, Virginia Smith; brother, Jeff Marshall and wife, Marjory; brother, Brent Marshall and wife, Linda; sister, Dana Fisher and husband, Ken; brother Marty Marshall and wife, Yvonne.
Steve was a graduate of Garfield High School, Akron, OH, Moody Bible Institute, Chicago,IL and Liberty, University, Lynchburg, VA.
Steve's calling as a pastor for the past 31 years involved youth and young adult ministry, local and abroad missions, outreach, planting, assistant and associate pastor, concluding as lead pastor of Missionview Church in North Canton. His love for God and scripture, his family, the church and community was evident as he selflessly, humbly and lovingly served others. His passion, zeal, excitement, commitment and vision were contagious as he listened, led and challenged those around him sharing his story. He ran hard the race set before him-he finished well-he entered heaven exhausted; may we all do the same!
Calling hours will be held on Friday, March 23, 2018 4pm-7pm at Maranatha Bible Church, 1424 Killian Rd, Akron, OH 44312. Celebration worship service will be held on Sunday, March 25, 2018 at 6pm at Maranath Bible Church. In lieu of flowers, Steve requested that donations be made to support the Shoulder to Shoulder $300,000 building project in Mazatlan, Mexico. Please makes the checks payable to Central Missionary Clearinghouse and mail to Maranatha Bible Church. PLEASE LEAVE THE MEMO LINE BLANK!
