Stewart R. Hudgins, Jr., 81, of Uniontown, went home to be with the Lord on August 5, 2010. Stewart was born July 17, 1929 in Lineville, Alabama. He served in the U.S. Air force and retired from General Motors. He was a longtime member of the Akron Baptist Temple, where he served in the bus ministry, the nursing ministry, and as a Sunday School teacher. Stewart was devoted to his family and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his son, Perry Hudgins; mother, Irene Ford Reed; and father, Stewart R. Hudgins, Sr. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Anne; children, Vickie (Mark) Laser, Randy (Karen) Hudgins, and Tammy (Bob) Schrader; grandchildren, Kelly (Brad) Wargo, Brandi (Brian) Laser-Seskes, Joe Hudgins, Courtney Laser, Ryan Hudgins, Eric Hudgins, Chad Hudgins, and Ashlee Schrader; and great-grandchildren, Todd Wilson, Gracie Wilson, Eli Hudgins, and Gavin Laser-Seskes. The family would like to thank Linda, Aileen, Gail, Gasper, and all the staff on Unit 1 at Pebble Creek Nursing Home. Family and friends may call on Sunday from 4-7 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., where funeral services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. Interment at Greenlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Pebble Creek Nursing Home or Barberton Hospice and Palliative Care.
