Susan Kaye Adkins Woodring, "Suzi", age 50 of Tallmadge, Ohio, died on Sunday, April 9, 2017 at Akron General Hospital after a short battle with breast cancer.
She was born on February 20, 1967 in Akron, Ohio, the daughter of Rita Damron Adkins of Pike County, KY and the late Ray Adkins.
Suzi was a 1985 graduate of Millard High School in Pikeville, KY. She was a homemaker that liked to camp, garden, cook, and craft; but her greatest joy was spending time with her family. She loved having a full house.
Suzi is survived by her mother, Rita, and her three daughters, Carrie Renee (Joseph) Shannon of Tallmadge, Carlene Heather (companion Jimmy) Woodring of Mogadore, and Christina Marie Woodring of Tallmadge; her grandchildren, Emmalee Shannon and Ryan Shannon. Also surviving are her siblings, Beverly Adkins, Roberta Anderson, Lesa Robinson, and Michael Adkins.
Other than her father, Susan was preceded in death by her sister, Laura Chaney.
There will be two funeral services, the first will take place at 1:00 PM on Good Friday afternoon, April 14, 2017 at True Vine Old Regular Baptist Church, 7982 South Cleveland Massillon Road, Clinton, Ohio 44216. Family and friends may then visit on Friday evening from 5:00 - 8:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 North Canton Road, Akron.
The second funeral service will take place at Newcomer Funeral Home at 10:00 AM, Saturday, April 15, 2017 where family and friends may visit one hour prior to the service.
Suzi will then be laid to rest at Greenwood Cemetery, Mogadore, Ohio.
