Susan Elaine Andrews

Susan E. (nee Hartong) Andrews, born on October 8, 1953, was called home to be with her father, Kenneth Hartong; sisters, Karen and Barbara and many friends on June 4, 2023. Sue was born to Kenneth and Mary Ellen (Horning) Hartong. She graduated from Field High School in 1971 and followed her heart into Nursing. Sue worked at Timken Mercy Medical Hospital for many years until taking the time to raise her family.

Sue was dedicated to her family, always putting others first. She made sure to attend every PTA or school event, even if that meant embarrassing her children. Susan always made sure her kids were dressed in style with the latest fashions- like permed bangs and unibrows. She made sure to overly decorate for any holiday, much to her husband's dismay. Sue made sure to always have something "on hand" in case someone stopped over and was hungry. She loved flowers, hummingbirds, snowmen, crafting and spending time with her family and friends.

Sue will always be remembered for her kind heart and helping hand.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 50 years, Gary Andrews; four children, Todd (Melissa) Andrews, Jodi (Raphael) Mendoza, Kaitlin (Jessica) Landis and Chelsea (Paul) Stalnaker; grandchildren, Noah, Hailey, Cruz, Isaiah, Bristol, Alianna and Bindee.

Family and friends are invited to visit Friday, June 16, 2023 from 3:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. for calling hours. Followed by a memorial service at 5:00 P.M. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, Ohio 44305.
