Susan K. Brooks, 71, passed away unexpectedly January 16, 2021. Born in Akron, OH, she spent her childhood in Webster Springs, WV before returning to the Akron area as a teenager. Susan enjoyed crafting, reading, researching murder mysteries, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by former husbands, James L. Ball, Sr., Lyle E. Brooks; father, Earl "Casey" McGinnis; one brother.
Susan will be sadly missed by children, Jim (Julie) Ball, Jr., Shawntell Kennedy, Casey (Scott) King; grandchildren, Travis Ball, Tyler, Zach and Logan Kennedy, Anthony (Morgan) King, Abby (Jeremy) Brown; great grandson, Bryar Brown; 3 sisters; nieces, nephews and friends.
Per her wishes, cremation has taken place. The family will have a memorial service at a later date after the pandemic. Those who wish may make memorial donations in Susan's name to the American Cancer Society.
