Susan Wright

Susan Wright, 75, of Akron, passed away on August 24, 2016 after a courageous battle with cancer. She enjoyed going to stock car races, attending auctions, collecting antiques, dining out, and loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and dog, Lucy.

Susan was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Paul Wright Sr.. She is survived by daughter and caregiver, Patty (Joe) Mitchell; granddaughter that she raised as her own, Amber (Joel) Kirchmeyer; daughters, Melissa (Robert) Riley, Kim Wright, Amy (Ed) McCrary; son, Paul Wright Jr.; 13 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; sisters, Jackie (Jim) Dillard, Bobbie Burton, Pat (Larry) Dickey, Becky (Kevin) Gifford; life-long friend, Nancy Klapp; and her many friends of the racing community.

The family would like to thank Drs. Canterbury, Nething, Payne and staff; aides, Joyce, Jan, and Michelle; nurses, Megan, Shavonne, and Adrianne.

Family will welcome guests on Wednesday, August 31, 2016 from 4-8pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron. Funeral service will be held Thursday, September 1, 2016 at 2pm. Pastor Diane Richmond officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the family.
