Susie L. Starcher-Allen

Susie L. Starcher-Allen, 76, of Akron, passed away peacefully on February 4, 2025. Susie was born on January 7, 1949 to Carmaleta (Starcher) Landenberger. Susie graduated from North High School in 1967. Susie was a devoted mother to her two children and loved nothing more than being "Nana" to her two grandchildren.

Susie had many careers throughout her life. She spent some time in accounts receivable at Holland Oil, which led her to pursue her accounting degree through Brown Mackie College. She loved her years as a school bus driver and accountant for Old Trail School in Bath and finished her career with the Social Security Administration.

Susie's hobbies and interests were as varied as her career. She loved to shop and appreciated the special trips she took with her family and friends, whether to the mountains, the beach, big cities, or places of historical interest. She enjoyed crocheting and exploring her family's genealogy. In younger years, she loved riding Harleys and collecting Cherished Teddies. She was also a former member of the Red Hat Society.

Her vibrant personality and caring spirit will be missed by everyone who knew and loved her. She was one of a kind.

Susie was preceded in death by her mother, Carmaleta Landenberger; and grandparents, Charles and Lettie Starcher.

Susie is survived by her children, Charles (Kristina) Brooks and Chelsie Allen; grandchildren, Zoey Diller-Kerr, Natalie Brooks and Oliver Allen; brothers, Timmie Landenberger and Carl Dean (Celeste) Landenberger; and extended relatives and friends, including dear friend, Eddie Allen.

Susie's family wishes to thank the hospice team at Gardens of Western Reserve Hospice for all their loving care.

Per Susie's wishes, cremation will take place and she will be privately laid to rest at Restland Cemetery in Brimfield.
