Swanee L. Roberts, age 80 of Akron, Ohio, died suddenly on March 28, 2018 at her home.
She was born on June 25, 1937 in Pennsylvania, the daughter of the late Creed and Elsie (nee Billings) Roberts.
Swanee retired from Akron General Medical Center as a nurse after 42 years of service. She enjoyed traveling and her cats. Her friends will miss their monthly lunch get-togethers.
Survivors include her sister, Judith "Judy" Kelly; her niece, Dawn Roberts; many cousins; and a very good friend, Carolyn Novak.
Those that have preceded her in death were her three brothers, Vernon Creed, Raymond Dean, and Leroy Roberts; and her brother-in-law, Thomas Kelly.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM, Friday, April 6, 2018 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 North Canton Road, Akron, where Pastor Dan Roland will celebrate Swanee's life.
Family and friends are welcome to pay their respects on Thursday, April 5, 2018 from 5:00 - 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the Humane Society of Summit County, 7996 Darrow Road, Twinsburg, Ohio 44087-6822.
