Tanya R. Sweeney

Tanya Rochelle Higgins Sweeney, age 45, of Canton, passed away suddenly on Tuesday July 2, 2024. She was born in Akron on August 25, 1978. She attended Green Local Schools and in 1997 graduated from Manchester High School. Tanya had a big heart and was very generous in helping others. Her laugh and smile were contagious. Most of all, she was an outstanding mother and would often say, "my children are my world".

She is survived by her children Michayla Sweeney (fiancee Ben Gehring), Mason Sweeney and Maximus Sweeney; parents Ramona Higgins and Greg Greathouse; aunts, uncles, cousins; other relatives and friends; and fur babies Shamus, Rocko and Trixie.

Preceded in death by her grandparents Dan and Kay Greathouse, John and Marjorie Humphrey, Dale and Peg Cleckner and Donald and Marie Higgins; biological father Mark Higgins and her brother Ryan Greathouse.

Visitation is prior to the service on Wednesday July 10th from 11 AM- 12:30 at Newcomer Funeral Home. Funeral services begin Wednesday July 10th at 12:30 PM. Final resting place is Hillside Memorial Park.
