Ted Allen
October 10, 1943 — January 11, 2023
Ted Allen passed away on January 11, 2023 at the age of 79 from the cruel disease of dementia. Born in West Virginia, he was a resident of Akron most of his life. Ted had been employed with Hillside Memorial Park for more than 20 years.
Before dementia, Ted was energetic and enjoyed playing euchre, fishing, racing at Barberton Speedway, riding dirt bikes, and bowling. Ted looked forward to his yearly beach trips with family, his grandchildren and great grandchildren brought so much joy and happiness to his life.
Preceded in death by his parents Homer and Pauline Allen, his daughter Sandy, his sister Pat and his brothers Jim, Dick and Ray. Ted is survived by his wife Della and his dog Darla; children, Ruth, Robert T. Allen, Jr., Linda (Paul), Brenda (Dan), Tina (Joe), Tony (Dori). Ted had 20 Grandchildren and 24 Great Grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; many good friends.
Calling hours will be at Newcomer Funeral Home, located at 131 N. Canton Rd, Akron, Ohio 44305 from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, January 18, 2023. Cremation will take place and Ted will be placed in the mausoleum at Hillside Memorial Park.
