Akron- Ted F. Leighton, 68, passed away on October 20, 2006, surrounded by his loved ones. Ted fought a courageous battle with cancer and is now resting peacefully. Ted was a car salesman and musician for many years. He enjoyed playing the trombone and guitar, and singing. Frank Sinatra was one of his favorites. His family and friends will miss his sense of humor. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Teddy and brother, Ray. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; sister, Dorothy Haren; sons, Steve (Chris) and Dale; daughter, Laura (Bob) Tarbet; many grandchildren; Darlene Reagan; and many other loving family and friends. A memorial service will be held on Monday, October 23 at 11:00 a.m. at Cornerstone Free Methodist Church, 578 Killian Rd., Akron. Online condolences may be sent to www.newcomerfamily.com.
