Ted G. Williams, age 80 of Akron passed away unexpectedly on Sunday April 10, 2022. A lifelong resident of Akron, Ted was born to the late Edgar G. and Jean {Motz} Williams.
In addition to his parents, Ted was preceded in death by his sister Cheryl J. Waltz.
Ted will be dearly missed by his wife of 57 years, Karen Sue {Mehlferber} Williams; son Scott (Holly) Williams; grandchildren Ron and Michaela; brother Frank (Sue)Williams; brother-in-law Dean (Claudia) Mehlferber; niece Molly (Dan) Nicholas; great-niece Naomi and great-nephew Noah.
Ted served in the Ohio National Guard for 8 years. He retired from RCA Rubber Company after 40 years of service. Ted was a member of the local Masons, and a longtime member of Millheim Church of Christ.
Ted enjoyed woodworking, cooking, trips to Amish country, traveling and taking cruises with Karen Sue. They made great memories visiting their friends Larry and Nancy in North Carolina.
Ted's family would like to extend their sincerest gratitude to the many family and friends that supported them through Ted's illness, especially the late Adam & Judy Campbell.
Family and friends are invited to visit on Friday, April 15 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd. Akron, OH 44305 from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon. A funeral service will follow at 12:00 p.m. Interment will follow the service at Hillside Memorial Park, where well-deserved military honors will be conducted.
