Tena E. May

Tena E. May 89, went home to be with the Lord on November 17, 2016. She was born in New Boston, OH to the late John and Pearlie Meenach. Tena was the choir director at her church for over 20 years. She loved baking, gardening and spending time with her church and her family. Even through her illness, she was a blessing to others through her faith with God. Tena was a strong Christian woman who loved to spread the gospel throughout her life.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dave; brothers, Walter, Wilson, Noah and Ed; sisters, Belva and Ruby. Tena leaves to cherish her memory, son, David (Vanessa) May; grandchildren, Chandra, Jonathan and Justin; great-grandchildren, Jonika, Kayla, Brittany, Jonathan and Dominic; sister, Nina; and many nieces and nephews.

Family will receive friends on Friday November 18, 2016 from 4:30-6:30pm with the funeral service immediately following at Newcomer Funeral Home 131 N. Canton Rd. Akron, OH 44305. Pastor Harold Bradley officiating.
