Tennie Louise Woodroof, age 80 of Akron, Ohio, died on Sunday, March 6, 2016 at Hospice Care Center.
She was born in Carthage, TN on July 13, 1935, the daughter of the late Henry Jeff and Nellie Mae Overstreet Woodard.
Louise was a member of Brown Street Church of Christ. Mrs. Woodroof retired after 40 years as a cook at Hyre Junior High School in Akron.
Louise loved to collect things with squirrels, she also did ceramics and loved to cook and bake. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family especially her grandchildren. Louise also enjoyed family reunions, and listening to country music.
Survivors include her children, Deborah Gail "Debbie" (Michael) Tracy of Noblesville, IN, Stephen Thomas (Robin) Woodroof of Akron, and Scot Wade (Martha) Woodroof of Peninsula, OH; five grandchildren, Tammy, Lauren, Adrian, Todd, and Philip; three great-grandchildren, Zach, Chris, and Courtney; and one great-great-grandchild, Sophia. Also surviving are her siblings, Fran Hershberger and Bobby "Fuzzy" Woodard both of Akron.
Other than her parents, Louise was preceded in death by her husband, Willey Woodroof on July 7, 2013, whom she married on September 4, 1952; and her brothers, J. C., John, and Kenneth Woodard.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 12, 2016 at 12:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 North Canton Road, Akron, where family and friends may visit from 10:00 am until the time of the service, where Donald Wright will celebrate Louise's life.
Following services Louise will be laid to rest next to her husband in Hillside Memorial Park, Akron.
