Teresa Marie Walsh

Teresa Marie Walsh (Garcia), 49, of Tallmadge, passed away unexpectedly on November 9, 2023 with her beloved family by her side. She was born on December 16, 1973 in San Jose, California and moved to Ohio as a teen. She graduated from East High School in 1992. Teresa met Bill Walsh in 1993, they married on March 16, 1996. As best friends, they raised their family of four children: Selena, Billy, Jerry, and Mia. Teresa was a committed caregiver and educator. She worked as a homemaker caring for her children for 20 years before she began her career as an educator. She worked with children ages 2-4 at Small Steps, Big Strides in Stow and proudly earned her CDA. She was a longtime member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church.
Teresa was ever active in her communities. She will be remembered for her unique way to cultivate a sense of belonging, whether that be in her roles as a Girl Scout troop leader, PSR teacher, or Chair of her High School's Reunion Committee. Teresa loved music and enjoyed any opportunity to spontaneously break into song and dance. She was a sight to see at any wedding. People would come from near and far to see her bust a move.
Teresa was a light in any room she walked in. Her smile and personality radiated love to everyone around her. She was someone who cared so deeply for everyone and their wellbeing. She'll never be forgotten.
Teresa showed her love for others outright and in view of others, whether it was very vocal support at her kids' sporting events or through bragging about their artistic talents during their musical or dance performances. All who were lucky enough to meet her felt this love as it showed in her smile and the pure kindness of her brown eyes. She impacted everyone around her immediately making every space a safe space by her sheer disposition. Her smiling image is not one that can be soon be forgotten, and none who saw it ever wish it be.
Teresa was preceded in death by her grandmother (Elisa Garcia), grandfather (Arnulfo Garcia Sr.) and mother-in-law (Molly Walsh). We believe she is now rejoicing in heaven with those who have passed, and while she may have left us here on Earth wanting for more of her presence, we may find solace in the joy she is experiencing with Our Heavenly Father.
She will be dearly missed by her loving husband, Bill; children, Selena, Billy, Jerry, and Mia; father, Arnulfo Garcia; mother, Mary Anne Ramos; sisters, Anna, Lena and Samantha; and many other family and friends who find a hole in their heart now that she has moved on.
Teresa was the most wonderful person anybody could have had the pleasure of meeting. Her life was as beautiful and bright as she was. A wife to one, a mother to few but a friend to all. The wondrous joy she brought to others only gives way to the immeasurable grief they experience now. No words could communicate the degree to which she will be missed.
Family and friends may visit on Sunday, November 19, 2023 from 3-8 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron. A funeral mass will be held at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, 73 North Ave, Tallmadge at Monday, November 20, 2023 at 11 a.m. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery.
