Terry Lee Akers

Terry Lee Akers, 58, of Akron, passed away surrounded by family at home on June 6, 2023, after a courageous, but brief, battle with cancer. He was born in Detroit, MI on May 20, 1965 to the late Darrell and Linda {Ward} Akers.

Terry is survived by his loving twin sister Theresa (Glenn) Barber; fiancée Robin Maze; daughter Molly Kate; 2 grandchildren.

Terry and Theresa's parents owned an Arco gas station in Detroit, MI for most of his childhood, and working there with his dad led to his mechanical inclination. After the family's move to the Akron area in 1980, and his high school graduation from Ellet in 1983, Terry continued with mechanical and handyman work. He was always ready with a helping hand, anytime his friends and family needed repairs or something fixed.

In his free time, Terry loved being out on the open road, especially on his Harley. He was also pretty handy in the kitchen, often cooking meals for himself and Robin to enjoy.
