Terry L. Swank, 69, of Akron, passed away March 17, 2012. Terry was born in Somerset County, Pennsylvania on July 19, 1942.
A U.S. Navy veteran, Terry worked as a pipefitter during his service. After his military service he spent 42 years as a construction worker. An avid outdoorsman, Terry loved hunting and fishing. He was a dedicated family man and was a devoted caregiver to his beloved wife.
He was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Swank; mother, Sadie Clark; and brother Jay Swank. He will be deeply missed by his wife of 51 years, Karen; daughters, Angela (Alan) Currey, Terri Lynn (Bob) Lemmon, and Lori (Dave) Havrilla; sister, Leeanna (Dave) Weeks; brothers, Glenn (Dinie) Swank and Donald (Helene) Swank; grandchildren, Christopher (JoAnne) Currey, Jennifer (Nathan) Ehret, Amber Currey, Brad Lemmon, and Jessica Lemmon; great-grandchildren, McKenzie Currey, Kayden Currey, and Baby Ehret on the way; godson, Hunter Edwards; many devoted relatives and friends.
Family and friends may call on Wednesday March 21 from 4-8 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., where a memorial service will be held on Friday March 23 at 10:00 a.m. Interment at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
