Terry Jean Pessefall (Reeder), passed away surrounded by her loving family on April 18,2024. She bravely battled cancer for nearly 4 years before peacefully succumbing to the illness.
She was born January 20th, 1959 to Paul and Juanita Reeder in Akron Ohio. She spent her youth in Bible studies, choirs, band, advanced Spanish and a host of other extra curricular activities, including playing sports outside of school with her beloved family, neighbors and church friends. In her later adult life she moved to Defiance Ohio and married Jerry Trowbridge the father of her two daughters, and assumed the role of bonus mom to Jerry's eldest. She served her community and managed gas stations in the area, she was loved by many regulars, friends and associates. Terry was deeply invested in helping with animal rescues and sanctuaries by any means possible. She volunteered her time, resources and funds to support the rescue of animals state and nationwide. Her loving heart, sharp mind, caring spirit and can-do-attitude will certainly be remembered by those who knew and loved her.
Terry leaves behind daughter Jennifer Trowbridge-Rivera, son in law Noel Rivera, daughter Catherine Trowbridge, and bonus daughter Claudia Roberts, sister Karen Davis, brother Paul Reeder, brother Jeremy Reeder, as well as nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Terry is preceded in death by parents Paul and Juanita Reeder, father of her children Jerry Trowbridge, grandparents and great-grandparents.
Terry wishes us to thank the following for her care and support throughout her medical journey the past several years; Dr. Laskey (oncologist), Megan Felcyn RN, Susan Popovici, Cooper Cancer Center infusions department nurses & staff, Wig Services Department, Nurse Jackie from Crossroads Hospice, Grace House Hospice, Pam from Stage 4 Cancer Ministry, Linda Turanchik for her love and support. Special thanks to Youngs Corners Fellowship Baptist Church for the prayers and support. Karen Davis for her love and devotion, as well as taking her to appointments, girls nights, and being a listening ear when she needed to vent. Jennifer and Noel for all of their love and attention to her personal daily needs and wants, meals, holidays, and errands.
Terry requested to not have a funeral service but rather a memorial in Akron for her closest kin, church family and medical personnel who cared for her. Her daughters will plan a celebration of life/biker benefit in the summer in defiance Ohio. Details to be released soon as possible. In regards to memoriam funds we ask that you consider donating to the family who will use funds to support themselves through this difficult time and the services to come.
It is the family's hopes that the biker benefit can raise enough money for the families needs as well as to make a charitable donation to the animal rescues/sanctuaries most dear to Terry. Also she wishes to urge anyone to get involved in the rescue/care of animals on their local level. Be kind to animals, to everyone and to yourself.
Visitation will be held from 4:00pm to 5:00pm at Monday, April 29th at Newcomer Funeral Home (131 N. Canton Rd., Akron) where memorial service will be held at 5:00pm with Pastor Timothy Wright officiating.
