Thelma Lea Carter, age 83 of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, died on Thursday, January 17, 2019 at Akron City Hospital.
She was born on March 14, 1935 in Gassaway, West Virginia, the daughter of the late Chris Stephen and Edna (nee Gerwig) Brady.
Thelma was an LPN for many years and she retired in 2005 from Wayside Nursing and Rehabilitation in North Hampton/Cuyahoga Falls after 12 years of service. She loved the outdoors, gardening-especially growing beautiful roses, hiking, and fishing-which gave her lots of peace and happiness. Her greatest joy was spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Survivors include her four sons, Nelson Michael "Mike" (Dianne) Carter of St. Simon Island, GA, Stephen (Joann) Carter of Hartville, Stanley Carter of Barberton, and David (Kimberly) Carter of Brunswick; her grandchildren, Clarissa, Kyle, Michael, Faith, Charles "Chuck", Matthew, Anthena, Steven, Anthony, Nicole, Jennifer, Anthony, Andrew, and Rebecca; and several great-grandchildren. Her siblings are also surviving, Audrey Thomas, Merle Brown, James, David, and John Brady.
Other than her parents, Thelma was preceded in death by her daughter, Judith Ketterman; her grandson, Aaron; and her 5 brother and sisters.

Thelma will be laid to rest in Hillside Cemetery, Randolph Township, on Wednesday, January 23, 2019 at 11:00 AM.
