Thelma Viola Hartley, 94, passed away on June 2, 2012.
Thelma retired from Sumner Home after 10 years of service, where she worked as an LPN. She had worked as a private-duty nurse for many years before that. In her younger years, Thelma loved to dance.
Preceded in death by 3 brothers and 1 sister. Survivors include son Ron (Toni) Zenar; sister, Dorothy Bonner; 3 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and all of her Birthday Club friends from Castle Dr.
Calling hours will be Tuesday, 4-6 p.m., at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, with a funeral service to follow at 6 p.m. Private interment will take place at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Macular Degeneration Research, 22512 Gateway Center Drive, Clarksburg, MD 20871.
