Thene W. Singleton, 83, went to be with the Lord on July 9, 2012.
He was the son of the late Clarence and Mabel Singleton. Thene was a member of the Full Gospel Tabernacle, where he also loved to play his guitar. He retired from Parker Hannifin after 42 years of service as a machinist.
Preceded in death by his wife, Mary; 3 brothers; 4 sisters. Survivors include daughters, Brenda (Steve) Watson and Sherry (John) Morrison; son, Danny (Diane) Singleton; 9 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; 2 step-granddaughters; sisters, Fay (Roger) Himes, Wilma Bond, Phyllis (Ted) Stover, and Viola Singleton; and many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be Thursday, 5-8 p.m., at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron. Funeral service will be Friday, 11 a.m., at Full Gospel Tabernacle, 939 Utica Ave., Akron. Interment at Mt. Peace Cemetery in Hartville. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice Care Center, 3358 Ridgewood Rd., Akron, OH 44333.
