It is with great sadness that the family of Thom "TJ" Lee Fleming Jr. 33 years old, announces that he tragically passed away Tuesday June 14th, 2022 from an aggressive form of leukemia.
He was born on January 17, 1989, the son of Jody Lynn Fleming (nee Sleeth) of Akron and the late Thom Lee Fleming Sr.
He attended Akron City Schools, grew up playing little league and football, and graduated from Garfield High School in 2007. Following graduation, he began a successful career in the automotive retail industry. At the time of his death, his career was blossoming, and he enjoyed his position as a car sales manager at Spitzer Chevrolet in Northfield. TJ shared his creative talent by writing and performing rap songs at Thursday's Lounge in Akron. He was a sports enthusiast who actively participated in adult flag football, softball, and kickball. He was also a diehard Pittsburgh Steelers fan. TJ had great style and was a true sneakerhead who enjoyed shopping for all types of footwear.
TJ was the devoted husband of five years to Brittany Lauren Fleming (nee Barsic), who was the love of his life and his dearest friend, whom he married on June 3, 2017. TJ's greatest joy were his children, Makenzie Rae and Caleb Thomas Fleming. He was a dedicated father and wonderful family man who enjoyed trips to Hocking Hills and the beach. He was considerate, loyal and always made sure the people he loved were taken care of.
In addition to his wife, children and mother, TJ is survived by his sister, Brooke Fleming and his nieces, Cecilia Sleeth and Sage Zaragoza. He is also survived by his wife's parents, Mary and Robert Barsic and their children; his mother's fiance, Carl Sharp, as well as, many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Other than his father, TJ was preceded in death by his sister, Nicole Sleeth; his aunt, Wendy Lucas; and grandma, Sherry Fleming.
Family and friends may visit on Thursday, June 23, 2022 from 4:00 - 8:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 North Canton Road, Akron, Ohio 44305.
Funeral Services will take place, Friday, June 24, 2022 at 10:00 AM.
