Thomas L. Alexander
Thomas L. Alexander, 77, long-time resident of Cuyahoga Falls and more recently of Akron, passed away March 2, 2006 at Akron General Medical Center. He was born January 26, 1929 in Cordova, Alabama to the late Alonzo & Marcella (Brown) Alexander. Thomas served in the U. S. Navy on an Aircraft Carrier. He retired from the Akron Board of Education as a Custodian. In his free time, he enjoyed sports - especially baseball and football, coaching little league, fishing, western movies and video poker. Thomas touched many people as he was a true people person. He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Dorothy (Maple) Alexander; daughters, Karen McKenzie and Susan (Rodney) Dennison; sons, James (Nancy) and Jack (Jeanne); grandchildren, Bryan, Stephanie, Thomas, James, Christopher, Randall, Richard, Megan and Nathan; great-grandchildren, Gunner, Aleeya and Audrey; sisters, Margaret, Lois Howton, Magdaline Ward and Betty Grace; brothers, Thomas and James; many friends and buddies. Calling hours will be Sunday from 4 - 7 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., where funeral services will be conducted Monday at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Mike Rogers officiating. Interment will follow at Hillside Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to CFABA c/o Cuyahoga Falls Parks & Recreation Department.
