Thomas C. "Tom" Tate
Tom Tate, 46, of Tallmadge, passed away May 9, 2010. He was born June 15, 1963 in Akron to the late Olin and Lee Tate. Tom was a project manager and was employed with Scott Process Systems Inc. for 25 years. In his free time, he enjoyed riding his Harley with his wife, vacationing with his sister and brother-in-law, bowling, and fishing. Tom had a special relationship with his grandson and they were devoted best friends. He will be deeply missed by his loving wife of 24 years, Kelly; daughter, Kristin (fiance Isaac); grandson, Trentin to whom Tom was known as "Honey"; sister, Joni (Van) Reynolds; mother-in-law, Jean (Johnnie) Slayton; father-in-law, Don (Sharon) Miller; brother and sisters-in-law, Donny, Missy (Darin), and Mary (Steve); nieces and nephews, Brandon, Alexx, Camren, Jocey, Jake, Tia, and Lauren. Tom has many wonderful friends from childhood and work. Visitation will be held Thursday, May 13, 2010 from 4-7 p.m. followed by a celebration of Tom's life at 7 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or Hospice of VNS.
