Thomas J. Carney

Thomas J. Carney, 68, passed away on October 16, 2022. He was born on July 27, 1954 the son of the late John and Hilda Carney. He was born in Akron, Ohio but lived his early years in Atlanta, GA thus becoming an avid Georgia Bulldogs and Atlanta Braves fan. He was employed for 34 years of dedicated service from MacTac formerly known as Morgan Adhesives. He enjoyed bowling with his family and friends, and proudly bowled many 300 games. He also enjoyed golfing. Tom will always be remembered for his sense of humor, infectious smile, and much love in his heart.
He was preceded in death by his parents; mother-in-law Nell Fuller; and brother-in-law David Fuller.
Tom is survived by his loving family, his wife of 43 years, Janet Carney; children Adam (Katelyn) Carney, Sean Carney, and Jessica (Esteban) Sosa; the loves of his life, grandchildren, Adalyn, Bryden, and Danna; brothers-in-law John (Ellen) Fuller and Mike (Dottie) Fuller; sister-in-law MaryAnn Fuller; and many beloved nieces and nephews who fondly called him "Uncle Smiley" and many dear friends.
Visitation will be held Saturday (October 29th) from 9:00AM to 11:00AM at the Newcomer Funeral Home (131 N. Canton Rd., Akron) where services will be held at 11:00AM with Chaplain Jerry Hughes officiating the family invites everyone to dress casual per Tom's wishes.
Interment will be held at Holy Cross Cemetery, in Akron.
